Maurya Hair Style is over on V N Mehta Studio Street. We’re right behind Chandan Lodge in the Chauta Bazaar area of Surat. It’s a very old and busy part of the city. Our shop is directly opposite the Bank of Baroda. It’s a small street and it can be hard to bring a car here, so most people just walk in while they’re shopping in the bazaar. We’ve been cutting hair here for a long time. The shop isn't modern or fancy at all. We have the old-style chairs and the usual mirrors. Chauta Bazaar is always full of people and noise, and our shop is right in the middle of it. We do hair cutting and shaves for the men. Sometimes it gets really hot in the summer because the street is so narrow. We just keep the fan going and do our work. A lot of the shopkeepers from around here come to us for their haircuts. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but the bazaar is still just as busy as ever. It’s a good place to be if you like seeing people and being in the center of things. We don't do any marketing, people just know we’re here. If you’re coming from the bank, just look across and you’ll see us sitting there ready to work. It’s a simple life in a busy market.
