Running an ice cream shop on Ring Road isn’t always easy because the traffic never seems to stop. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place cool and making sure the freezers are running right. If the power goes out even for a little bit, it’s a big headache, but luckily that doesn’t happen too often these days. Most of our customers come in late in the evening when the sun finally goes down and the air gets a bit thinner. You see families coming from Rampura or people just passing through Rughnathpura Main Road. The kids usually make a mess, but that’s just part of it. We try to keep the floors wiped down, though with so many people coming and going, it’s a constant job. I remember when we first started, the road wasn't nearly this busy. Now, you can barely hear yourself think sometimes with the horns honking outside. But inside, it’s a different world. People just want something cold and sweet. We don’t have any fancy seating, just enough for people to stand around or sit for a minute while they eat. My brother and I take turns behind the counter. It’s long hours, especially in the summer months when everyone is looking for relief from the heat. We don't do much advertising; people just know we're here on the main road. It’s a simple life, mostly just scoops and cones all day long. We just keep our heads down and serve the neighborhood.
