Kumar Hair Parlour

If you look for Shop No-4 in the Krishna Complex, you’ll find us easily enough. Kumar Hair Parlour has been part of this Kapodhra neighborhood for quite some time. The Kapodhra Char Rasta Road is always a mess with traffic, so it’s usually pretty noisy outside our door. We’ve got the standard setup—swivel chairs, a few drawers for the combs and scissors, and those big mirrors that have seen better days. We don’t have a website or anything like that because we mostly just talk to people face-to-face. A lot of guys come in after work to get a quick trim before heading home to their families. We usually have the news running on a small TV, or maybe just some local songs playing. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find fancy coffee or leather couches. We have some plastic chairs for when it gets crowded on Saturday mornings. Sometimes the sink leaks a little, but we fix it when we have a minute. It’s just how things go when you run a small place in Surat. We’ve known some of these customers since they were kids, and now they bring their own kids here. It makes the day go by faster when you have someone to talk to while you work. We just try to keep the scissors sharp and the place running.
