Krishna Ice Parlour

Krishna Ice Parlour is located at Varachha Road 3rd Main Road G/39. It is a corner spot basically. We have been here for a good amount of time, watching the shops around us change names. The main thing here is the ice cream, obviously. We have a few freezers lined up against the wall. One of them has a lid that sticks a bit, so you have to pull it hard. It’s just how it is. In the afternoons, when the school lets out, the place gets quite loud. We usually have two or three people working the scoops. It’s not a complicated business. We get the tubs delivered, we put them in the cold storage, and we serve it. The floor is a grey tile that hides the dust well, which is good because the road outside is always under construction. There is always a layer of grit on the windows if we don't wipe them every two hours. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just some old posters and the price list taped to the glass. Some days are slow, especially when it rains, and we just sit there listening to the traffic. Other days, we can’t keep up with the orders. It’s a simple life here at G/39. We know most of the neighbors by their first names now, and they know where to find us.
