Jyotishi Vijaysinh

My name is Vijaysinh and my place is located at Nanpura 1 B. It’s a small corner of the world but it’s where I’ve done my work for a long time. People know me around here as the person to talk to about astrology. I don’t have any big signs out front, just a small one so people know they’ve found the right door. The room inside is cozy, maybe a bit too small when more than two people show up at once. I’ve got my desk and a lamp that flickers a little if you don’t hit the switch just right. I mostly work with the local families in Nanpura, seeing them through various stages of their lives. It’s a lot of looking at old charts and drawing new ones by hand. I never really got into the habit of using those computer programs for everything. I like the feel of the paper and the ink. There’s always a stack of books nearby that I’m trying to finish. My hours aren’t always strictly set; if someone really needs to talk, I usually stay a bit later. It’s not a polished business by any means. It’s just me in a room with some old tools and a lot of history. I’ve seen kids grow up and start their own families over the years. That’s the best part of being in one spot for so long. It feels like I'm part of the neighborhood fabric now. It's quiet work.
