Our office is up on the fourth floor of the Opera House in Kadodara. Number 410. It is a busy commercial building and there is always something going on in the hallways. Getting up to the fourth floor is a bit of a workout if the lift is busy, which it usually is during the lunch hour. We have a decent view of the Kadodara area from up here. The office is just one main room with some partitions we put up ourselves to make it feel more organized. We have a small corner where we keep the stove for making tea because we drink a lot of it while working. The walls are white but they have some marks from where we moved the furniture around. We have a lot of books and registers piled up because we still like to write things down by hand sometimes. The afternoon sun hits the windows directly, so we have to keep the curtains closed for a few hours. It’s a bit of a walk from the main gate of the Opera House to our door. We’ve been here long enough that the security guards know us by name. It is a functional space, nothing more and nothing less. We spend our time answering emails and checking the local listings. It gets quiet in the evenings after most of the other offices in the building have shut down for the day. We usually finish up and head home by seven.
