Ambica Iron Works

Ambica Iron Works is situated in Kathor, right opposite the Agro Petrol Pump. Our shop is mostly an open space filled with iron rods, flat bars, and sheets of metal leaning against the walls. It is a hot place to work because of the welding we do throughout the day. You can always hear the sound of the grinder cutting through steel or the hiss of the welding torch. There are sparks flying in the back corner quite often, so we have to keep the floor clear of anything that might catch fire. We make things like window grills, gate frames, and simple metal brackets for the local builders. Everything is heavy, so we spend a lot of time lifting and moving iron back and forth. The front of the shop is open to the road, so we get a lot of dust from the trucks pulling into the petrol pump across the street. We do not have a fancy showroom, just the finished pieces leaning out front so people can see the work. My hands are usually stained black from the raw iron, and there is a thick layer of metal filings on the workbenches. It is honest, hard work that leaves you tired by the end of the day. We just take the measurements, cut the metal, and weld it together like people have been doing for years.
