Harjhil Gruh Bhandar

Harjhil Gruh Bhandar is our little place located at 6, Akshardham Society. We are right on Varachha Road in the Hira Baug area of Surat, specifically near Sarthana Jakat Naka. It is a lively part of the city. We have been operating out of this shop for a while, dealing with all sorts of household items. People around here know us because we are right in the middle of the society. Most of my day is spent making sure the inventory is right and talking to the regulars who come in. Surat is always moving fast, and Varachha Road is no different. You can hear the vehicles outside all day long. Sometimes I’m just sitting behind the counter checking bills or helping someone find a specific brand of spice or a kitchen tool. It gets a bit crowded inside when we have a lot of stock arriving, but we manage. My family helps out too when things get really hectic. We don’t really do any big advertising or anything. People just walk in because they live close by or they saw the sign while passing through Sarthana Jakat Naka. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. We know which neighbor likes which brand of tea. We try to keep things tidy, but with so many small items, something is always out of place. It’s just how a local bhandar works. We stay open pretty late most days because that is when everyone finishes work.
