My shop is located in Siddhshila Apartment, specifically at Shop No 8. Being in Nanpura is nice because it’s a central part of Surat and easy for people to reach. We are right across from Jivanbharti School, so we hear the bell ring and the kids shouting during their recess. It makes the day go by faster hearing all that energy outside. I’ve been working here for a long time. The space inside isn't too big, but it’s enough for us to do our work. We have the usual mirrors and chairs set up. Usually, parents come in after dropping their kids off at the school, or sometimes the teachers stop by when they finally finish their shift. It’s a steady flow most days of the week. I try to keep the place clean, though hair gets everywhere no matter how much you sweep. The apartment building is old but sturdy. We know all the neighbors well. Sometimes we go out for a quick tea at the corner stall when it’s not too busy. It’s just a regular local business. We don't have any big signs or anything too flashy to show off. Most people find us because they live in Nanpura or they pass the school every day. It feels good to be part of the neighborhood. We just do our work and talk to the people who come in.
