Gopi Beauty Parlour

I have been running Gopi Beauty Parlour for a while now at number 80 in Nilam Nagar. This part of Vibhad-2 is always moving because we are so close to Shyamdham Chowk in Nana Varachha. Every morning starts about the same way. I unlock the front door, turn on the fans, and start getting the towels ready for whoever might walk in first. Living and working in the 395006 area of Surat means you get used to the noise and the people passing by. It is just a small, local shop where women from the neighborhood come to get their hair trimmed or their eyebrows done. Sometimes it gets quite busy in the afternoons when everyone is out doing their shopping. I keep the chairs clean and make sure there is enough water. The mirrors have seen a lot of faces over the years. Some people stay for a long talk while others are in a hurry to get back to their kids or their jobs. It is not a fancy place with big lights, but it works for us. I usually spend the quiet times tidying up the shelves or checking the supplies. The street outside stays loud until late at night, but inside it is just the sound of the scissors and some light conversation. Nana Varaccha is a crowded place, so having this little corner feels right for the daily routine we have here.
