Final Cuts & Hair & Beauty

We've been at 128 Gopinath Society for a while now. Mota Varachha is a busy spot. It's not fancy here. People come in from the Satellite area after work. We just do hair and beauty stuff. It gets dusty outside because of the road traffic. Some days are loud, others are quiet. We keep the mirrors clean and make sure the chairs are ready. It’s a local place, nothing more. My cousin helps out sometimes when it gets busy in the evenings. Most of the people living around here know where we are. We don't have a big sign, just the name on the door. It’s mostly men for haircuts, but we do beauty work for the ladies too. Usually, someone is sitting on the bench waiting and talking about the weather or the local news. We don't have a website or anything like that. Just this shop on Varachha Road where we spend our whole day. If you’re walking past Gopinath Society, you’ll see us. We keep it simple. There’s no big philosophy behind it. We just open up in the morning, sweep the floor, and start working. Sometimes the chai wala comes by and we take a break for a few minutes. That's how it goes here in Surat. We've seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but the shop stays pretty much the same.
