Patal is where we set up this little ice cream spot. It’s a simple name because we didn't want anything complicated. The shop is small and we don't have much furniture inside. Mostly people just buy their cones and walk around outside. We get our supplies from the local distributor every couple of days. If the truck is late we might run low on the popular stuff like vanilla or mango. The neighborhood knows us well by now. We aren't trying to be a big chain or anything like that. It's just me and my wife running the place. We start around noon and stay until the last person leaves at night. The weather here makes people crave something cold almost every day. We have a small radio that plays the local stations while we work. Sometimes the kids from the school down the road come in all at once and it gets a bit chaotic. We just try to keep up with the orders. It’s not a fancy life but we like being part of the community here in Patal. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. We just sell ice cream and try to keep the machines running. There’s a bit of a crack in the front window from a ball hitting it last year but it’s still holding up okay. We just take things one day at a time here.
