Dex Salon

Dex Salon is based in Shop No. A/12 of the Varun Complex. We are right on the Ishwer Krupa Main Road, which is part of the larger Varachha Road area here in Surat. It’s a very active neighborhood, especially being so close to Laxmi Nagar Society. A lot of the men and boys from the society come to us because we are just a short walk away. The salon itself has a very simple setup. We have our mirrors, our cutting chairs, and a small bench for people waiting their turn. The main road is always noisy with rickshaws and buses, but you get used to it after a few days. I start my mornings by checking the clippers and making sure we have enough clean capes for everyone. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so the ceiling fans are always spinning at full speed. We don't have any corporate rules or anything like that. It’s just us working and chatting about whatever is on the news or what's happening in Varachha. Sometimes a customer will bring in some snacks to share while they wait. The floor needs a lot of sweeping because hair piles up fast, but that’s just part of the job. We have been in this complex for a while and have seen many shops come and go. We just keep our heads down and do our work. It’s a good, honest way to spend the day for us.
