Devnarayan Ice Cream

It is just us here at Devnarayan Ice Cream on Varachha Road 4. We have been at this location for a good while now. The shop is not huge but it fits what we need for the daily work. Most days start early with me getting the machines ready and checking the freezers. It gets really hot outside in this part of town, so people are always coming in looking for something cold to eat. We try to keep the floor clean, though it is a bit of a struggle with kids dropping sticky stuff all the time. My brother helps out on the weekends when it gets busier. Sometimes the power goes out in the neighborhood and we really worry about the stock melting. It is a lot of hard work keeping everything frozen and ready. Neighbors usually stop by just to chat for a bit while they eat their treats. We do not have any fancy chairs or decorations, just some basic stools and a counter. People know where we are because of the big sign out front that has been there for years. Varachha Road 4 gets very busy in the evenings with traffic. You see the same faces every single week and we know most of their names. We try to keep things simple here. There are no big bells or whistles. Just us working and the sound of the freezer humming all night long. It is a steady sound that I have grown used to.
