Deepika Marble

Deepika Marble is located at 5 Palanpur, right on the Navrang Cinema Road in the Dandia Bazar area. It is a bit of a gritty place because of all the stone we handle. Marble is beautiful once it is polished and laid down, but in the shop, it is just heavy, dusty slabs. There is always a fine layer of white powder on everything, from the desks to the phones. We spend a lot of time moving these heavy pieces around. You have to be careful because if you drop one, that is the end of it. I have been working with stone for a long time now. People come in looking for something for their kitchen or a new floor for their house. I walk them around the yard and show them the different batches we have in stock. Every piece looks a bit different, and that is what I like about it. Sometimes we have to spend hours cutting a piece just right to fit a specific corner. It is hard on the back and the hands, but it is satisfying to see it finished. The road outside is usually busy with people going to the cinema or the market. We are just a local shop trying to make a living. We do not have a big marketing budget or a shiny website. Most of our customers find us because they live nearby or heard about us from a neighbor.
