About Cream Point Ice Cream Parlour – Food & Beverages in Surat
Adajan Dn 1 is where we are. It’s a simple spot. The freezers make a constant hum that you get used to after a while. I spend a lot of time checking the temperature every couple of hours. Kids from the nearby buildings come in around four when school lets out. They usually have sticky hands and look at the flavors for a long time. We keep a stack of napkins right by the door for them. It’s not a big place, just enough for a few people to stand and look at the tubs. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to worry about everything melting, but mostly things stay cold. The floor is white tile and it shows every bit of dirt, so I sweep it maybe four times a day. People know the name Cream Point because we've been here for a bit. There’s a loose stone on the step outside that I’ve been meaning to fix. It’s just us here, scooping out what people want. Evening time is when it gets really crowded. Everyone wants something cold after their meal. We don’t do anything fancy, just the regular stuff you’d expect. I usually close up around eleven and head home. The street gets quiet then, except for the stray dogs. It is what it is, just a small ice cream shop in a busy part of town. I hope the freezer lasts another season. The light above the counter has been flickering lately too.
