Collegian Hair Parlour

We are at number 7, Bajrang Apartment. This is in the Himmatnagar Shantilal Society area, right on A K Road. Being in Surat 395008, it’s a fairly central spot for people living in the society. Collegian Hair Parlour isn't some high-end place you see in the malls. It’s just a room with some chairs and the usual tools we need. We've been on A K Road for a long time. The society is quiet, which is nice. You don't get as much noise as the main junctions. We see a lot of students because of the name, I guess, but older folks from Bajrang Apartment come in too. We don't have fancy chairs that lean all the way back. They are just standard ones. Sometimes the water tap in the back leaks a little, so we have to keep a bucket there. It’s just how it is. We start work in the morning and stay until the last person leaves. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one. Most people know us by word of mouth anyway. We keep the scissors sharp and the combs clean. It's a steady job. We don't think about much else besides getting the hair right. The walls could use some new paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. It feels like home to us after so many years of working in this same spot every single day.
