Chatterjee Enjineering

Our place is over at 54 Vivekananda Town Ship, right near the Jakatnaka area in Palanpur. Being in Gujarat, things move at a certain pace, and we just try to keep up with the work that comes through the door. The sign says Chatterjee Enjineering, and we’ve been here long enough that people know where to find us. We are pretty close to the main town but far enough that it’s not too crazy all the time. The workshop is where we spend nearly all our daylight hours. It is mostly full of various bits of metal, spare parts, and the smell of oil and grease. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. Instead, we have a desk in the corner where we keep the ledger and take some calls. It is practical work, really. We fix things, we build things, and we try to make sure everything is sturdy. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, which is nice for focusing on the more complicated tasks. Sometimes we have to go out to Palanpur for supplies or to meet someone about a project. It’s a lot of back and forth, especially on the busy days. We just take it one day at a time here. There is always something to be repaired or a new drawing to look over. It’s not a glamorous life, but it keeps us busy and the tools don’t stay idle for long at all.
