Chamunda Raj Hair Art

Chamunda Raj Hair Art is located at Shop Number 1 in the Maharsh Co. Housing Society. We are right on Rander Road, not far from the Satyam Shivam area. The shop faces the main road, so we see all the buses and rickshaws going by. It’s a handy spot for people living in the society to get a quick trim. We have a few mirrors that have seen better days but they still work fine for us. The chairs are comfortable enough for a twenty-minute sit. We have a drawer full of different combs and brushes of all sizes. The floor gets a lot of dust from the road, so we are always sweeping it out. We have a small electric trimmer that we keep plugged in near the main switchboard. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to sit for a minute and chat about the local news. We keep some water in a clay pot in the corner for anyone who is thirsty. The smell of the shop is mostly just hair tonic and old wood. We don't have any air conditioning, just a big pedestal fan that we move around to stay cool. The work is steady and we’ve gotten to know the families around Rander Road quite well. It’s just a basic shop where we do our best with the scissors and a comb. We keep the shop open until late in the evening most days of the week. It stays quite busy on Sunday mornings.
