Chamunda Provisio

Chamunda Provisio is located in the Amroli Handewadi area. We are a standard provision store, the kind you find in every neighborhood. Our shelves are stocked with all the basics like bags of rice, different kinds of lentils, and cooking oils. We also keep some snacks and sodas for the kids who stop by after school. The shop is a bit small, so we have to stack things pretty high. You have to be careful when pulling a box down from the top shelf. We open up early, usually before most people are even awake, to get the milk deliveries settled. It’s a lot of lifting and moving bags around. My clothes usually have a bit of flour dust on them by the end of the day. We don’t have a fancy computer system for the bills; we just write things down or use a simple calculator. It’s how we’ve always done it. People come in and ask for a specific brand of tea or a certain spice, and we know exactly where it is in the heap. The neighborhood is quiet during the day and gets busy in the evening when everyone is coming home from work. We talk to the customers about the weather or how the local cricket team is doing. It’s just a normal life, running a shop and making sure people have what they need for their dinner every night.
