Bul Bul Parlour & Cosmetics,

Our shop is in Prime Arcade, specifically G-218. It’s on Anand Mahal Road in the Adajan area of Surat. It is a busy spot. We have the cosmetics side where we sell things like creams and bindis, and then the parlour side for the service. I usually get here early to organize the shelves because the products always get moved around by customers looking through things. The arcade gets a lot of foot traffic. People are always walking past on their way to other shops or the market. It’s quite a small space if I’m being honest, but we fit everything in. We have had the shop here for some time now. Some people come just to buy a lipstick, others stay for a longer time to get things done. It is often quite noisy because of all the people in the arcade, but that is just part of being in Adajan. The sign outside is simple. We don’t have any big screens or fancy lights. Just the glass counter and some chairs for the ladies. In the summer, the heat comes in from the front, so we try to keep it cool for the people who come in. It is a local place for local people. Most of the women who live in the flats nearby know where we are. We don't do much talking about ourselves, we just work until it’s time to close the shutters.
