Asha Dairy Farm And Sweets

Our shop is on Katargam Kelkar Road 16. It’s called Asha Dairy Farm And Sweets. Every morning starts really early here because the milk comes in and we have to get everything ready before the sun is even up properly. We make our own sweets right in the back area. You can usually smell the sugar and milk boiling if you walk past at the right time in the morning. The counters get crowded in the evenings when people are heading home and want something sweet for their kids or guests. We have a few trays of different barfis and milk cakes out. It’s not a very big space, so things can get a bit cramped when it's busy and everyone is trying to get served at once. We spend a lot of time cleaning the containers and making sure the fridge is cold enough. Some of the neighbors have been coming to us for years for their daily milk. We aren't doing anything fancy, just selling what people need for their tea and their snacks. The floors are stone and we keep them washed down every day. Sometimes we run out of certain sweets early if there’s a festival or a big wedding nearby. We just do our work and try to keep things moving. It’s a lot of manual labor, lifting heavy cans and stirring big pots for hours, but it’s what we do here on Kelkar Road. We hope the milk is fresh every single time.
