Anju Pumps & Pipes

Our place is over at 72 Udhana Magdalla Road, right by the 17th Cross and Tank Bund Road. We are pretty close to the Vasant Vihar canal. We have got stacks of pipes and all kinds of water pumps sitting around the shop. It is a bit of a maze in here with all the different sizes of PVC and metal tubing. Farmers and plumbers are our main regulars. They come in when something has burst or they are setting up a new irrigation line. We know which joints and valves work best for different pressures. It is not a clean job; we are often moving heavy iron pipes or getting grease on our hands from the pump motors. We have been here a good while, and the neighborhood has grown a lot around us. We do not use any fancy computer systems for the inventory; we just know what is in the back by looking. If a pump is not working right, people bring it in and we take a look at it. There is usually some tea going on the side table for anyone who wants to sit and talk for a minute. We keep things simple here. We sell the stuff that keeps the water moving, and we do it from this same spot every day. It is not a complicated life, but it keeps us busy.
