Ami Beauty Parlour

Ami Beauty Parlour is down in the basement of the Surya Kiran Building. We are on Ghod Dod Road, right next to St Xaviers School. Being in the basement is actually quite nice during the hot months because it stays cooler than the shops upstairs. It is not a very big space, but we have three chairs and a small area in the back for waxing and other things. We do not have any windows, so we use a lot of tube lights to keep it bright enough to work. We have been here for a long time now. Most of the ladies who come in live in the apartments nearby or are parents waiting for their kids to finish school. We do the standard beauty work like threading, cleaning, and simple hair cuts. There are some old magazines on the table for people to look at while they wait their turn. The stairs coming down can be a little steep, so we tell people to be careful. It is a friendly place where everyone knows each other. We do not do any big advertising, just the board we put out on the pavement every morning. The noise from Ghoddod Road does not really reach us down here, so it is a quiet place to work. We just do our jobs and then head home.
