You will find Amar Shakti Hair Art over at Shop Number 1 in Paras Society. We are right near the Paras Police Station, so there are always cops and locals moving about on Katargam Main Road. It’s a loud area with all the bikes and rickshaws going past the door. I opened this shop because I knew the area well and saw there was a need for a basic hair art place. We don't do anything too complicated here. Just cuts and shaves for the neighborhood guys. The shop has some posters on the wall that have been there for years, mostly showing different styles that nobody ever asks for anyway. Everyone just wants the usual cut. It’s a small space, so if three people are waiting, it feels full. I usually have a tea stall guy bring me a cup around eleven every morning. That is my favorite part of the day. Working on Katargam Main Road means you see everything happen. We have seen the road get paved and the buildings go up. It’s a lot of work keeping the shop running, especially during the festive seasons when everyone wants to look sharp for the photos. I just keep the tools sharp and the floor swept as much as I can. It isn’t fancy, and the chairs are a bit old, but they are comfortable enough for a twenty-minute sit. It’s just how we do things.
