If you head over to Chembur Colony in Surat and find your way to block L 7, that’s where Agrawal Equipment is located. It’s a practical space filled with various machines and tools that we deal with every day. The floors are concrete and usually have a bit of oil or grease on them, which is just part of the job. We spend most of our time looking at manuals or helping people find the specific spare parts they need for their projects. It’s not a quiet place because there’s always someone moving something or a truck arriving with a delivery. The colony itself is quite old, and we’ve gotten to know the people running the other businesses nearby. We usually open up early and stay until the sun goes down. There’s no fancy showroom here. It’s just shelves and racks full of heavy metal items and equipment. Sometimes it gets a bit hot in the summer because the building holds the heat, but we just turn on the fans and keep at it. We don’t have a lot of staff, so everyone does a bit of everything, whether it’s answering the phone or hauling a crate across the floor. It’s honest work and we like being in this part of town. It feels like home to us after all these years. We don't use big words or fancy talk, we just know our equipment and where everything is stored. There is always a lot to do before closing up.
