Advance Professional Family Saloon

Up on the first floor of Radheshyam Shopping Centre is where we are. Shop 113. It's right at Singanpore Char Rasta, so the traffic noise from the intersection comes up through the windows. We’ve got four chairs and big mirrors. The floor is usually covered in hair clippings because we stay pretty busy, especially on Sunday mornings. Ved Road is a hectic area. I opened this place because the neighborhood needed a decent spot for a haircut that wasn't too expensive. We do shaves and haircuts for the men and kids mostly. The kids usually cry when they see the scissors, so we keep some candy in a jar by the register to help them calm down. The chairs are old but comfortable. We have a small television in the corner, but the signal is always a bit fuzzy, so we mostly just play the radio. The walls were painted blue a few years ago, but they are starting to peel a bit near the ceiling. It doesn't bother anyone. People just want a quick trim and a chat. My hands are always smelling like aftershave or soap. It’s hard work being on your feet all day, but seeing the regulars every month makes it okay. Surat is growing fast and Singanpore is no different. We just keep doing what we do. The fan above the third chair wobbles a bit if you put it on high speed.
