A - One Hair Art

A - One Hair Art is located at 117 Shima Nagar Society on the Palanpur Rander Road. Being in Adajan means there are always people walking by or heading to work. The shop is on the ground floor so it’s easy to step inside from the pavement. We have the standard black barber chairs that swivel around. Every morning we sharpen the razors and make sure the spray bottles are full of water. The mirrors are big and cover most of one wall. We have a small radio that usually plays some music in the background, nothing too loud though. The floor is often covered in bits of hair until we get a chance to sweep it into the corner. We have shelves filled with different gels and powders that we use throughout the day. People from the Shima Nagar area know us well by now. It’s a regular routine of cutting, trimming, and shaving. Sometimes we have a queue of three or four people waiting on the wooden bench against the wall. The sink in the back is where we wash up. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy, just the name on the glass door. The air smells like shaving cream and talcum powder most of the time. We just focus on the task at hand and try to keep a steady pace. It’s a honest day’s work in a neighborhood we’ve grown used to. There is always something to do with the brushes and combs.
