S S Shawls is located right near the 7th Bridge in the Safa Kadal area. Specifically, we are in Rathpora, near Idgah. This is an old part of the city, and our shop feels that way too. We have been working with shawls for many years now. It’s a family thing that we just kept doing. The shop isn't very large, but we have many different pieces folded and stacked up on the wooden counters. When the weather gets cold, that is when we see more people stopping by to look at what we have. Most of the shawls are simple, meant for everyday use, but we have some with more detail if that’s what someone wants. We spend a lot of time sitting on the floor rug, checking the fabric for any loose threads. The area around Safa Kadal is always full of life, with the river nearby and people constantly moving across the bridge. Sometimes we have tea with the other shop owners when business is slow. We don't use any big machines here; it’s mostly just us handling the stock and showing it to visitors. We don't have a polished showroom with bright lights. The lighting is a bit dim, but it’s enough to see the patterns. It is just a regular local shop where we do our business every day. We hope the weather stays dry because damp air isn't good for the wool we keep here.
