We are over here at House No 41 in Madina Colony. If you know Channapora in Srinagar, then you probably know where this part of Kashmir is. It is a quiet place mostly. Being part of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited means there is always stuff to do, but at this specific spot, it’s just us handling things from the house. Sometimes the weather gets really cold and we have to keep the heaters going while we sort out the paperwork. People often get confused by the address because it’s a residential area, but we have been here for a bit now. It is just a regular building, nothing fancy on the outside. We see the neighbors going about their day while we focus on the work related to HPCL. It gets busy during certain months when there is more demand for things, but we try to stay on top of the files and the phone calls. Srinagar has its own rhythm and we are just a small part of it. Channapora has grown a lot over the years and we have seen many changes from our window at House No 41. It’s not like a big corporate skyscraper you see in the movies. It’s more like a home office where the tea is always hot and the work gets done eventually. We don't really have a big sign out front, so you have to look for the house number carefully. Just a few of us here trying to keep things moving.
