Life in Srinagar has its own pace, and here in Gilli Kadal Nohara, we feel that every day. My name is on the business, but it’s really just about the work we do in this part of Tehsil Srinagar. We are located near Lal Bazar, which is always a hub of activity. Most of the time, I am out on a job or dealing with something practical, so the office is mostly for keeping the tools and the paperwork in order. The winters get quite cold here, so we have to adjust how we work when the snow starts falling. Our building is a modest one, typical for this neighborhood, with a heavy door and small windows to keep the heat in. I’ve lived in this area for a long time, so I know the streets and the people quite well. We don't do things in a rush; we prefer to take our time and make sure everything is handled the right way. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when the market near Lal Bazar gets busy on the weekends. I handle most of the calls myself and try to keep things organized, even though my desk usually has a few too many papers on it. It’s not a big corporate operation, just me and a few hands helping out when the work gets heavy. We stay busy through the seasons and appreciate the local community that stops by to say hello.
