Candid Steels

We are located out in Srinagar, specifically in the Hyderpora area. Candid Steels is pretty easy to find since we are right near the J & K Bank and directly opposite the bus stand. Having the bus stand there means there is always a lot of noise and people moving about, which keeps things lively throughout the day. We deal with steel, so there is a lot of heavy lifting and moving large pieces around the yard. The weather here can get really cold, and handling cold metal isn't the most fun thing in the world during winter. We just wear extra layers and keep going. Our space isn't very big, but we manage to fit quite a bit of stock in. People come by mostly for construction stuff or small home projects. We spend a lot of time talking to the drivers who bring the materials in from other places. It’s a straightforward business, really. We open up, check the inventory, and wait for the next person to walk through the door. Sometimes the traffic near the bank makes it hard for the trucks to turn, so we have to go out and help guide them in. It's just a regular day-to-day routine for us. We don't have any big corporate goals; we just want to make sure the steel we sell is what the person asked for. That’s pretty much the whole story of what happens at our yard.
