Based in B-212/3 Chattarpur Extension, we spend most of our time on the move rather than sitting at our desks. This place is more like a staging area for all our tools and supplies. We handle all kinds of maintenance stuff for buildings and homes around the area. Some days it’s a leaking pipe that needs fixing, and other days we’re dealing with electrical issues that have someone sitting in the dark. It’s a lot of coordinating schedules and trying to get our technicians to the right place at the right time. The phone rings a lot, usually with someone having an emergency of some sort. We try to be quick, but traffic and unexpected problems with old wiring can sometimes slow us down. It’s a messy job sometimes, involving ladders and toolboxes and plenty of sweat. We don't have a big fancy lobby because we are usually out in the field. Our small crew knows the neighborhood well, and we’ve seen inside a lot of the houses around here while fixing things. It’s practical work that people need, and we just do our best to get it done without making a bigger mess. Every morning we check the list of jobs and load up the vans. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know. We just take it one repair at a time and try to keep things running. There's always another job waiting around the corner in Chattarpur for us to handle.
