We’ve been running things from No. 391 at Ganesh Chowk for quite some time now. Begampur is a busy spot, and being right at the chowk means we see a lot of people coming and going every day. This isn't a retail shop where everything is on display behind glass; it's more of a working agency. We deal with various supplies that local businesses and homes need regularly. Most of our mornings are spent checking orders and talking to transporters. It gets a bit hectic around noon when the deliveries arrive, and we have to move boxes around in the limited space we have. The building is older, but it’s sturdy and keeps the stock dry. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or big ads. People find us because they know we’ve been here and we have what they need. Sometimes the phones ring off the hook, and other times it's quiet enough to actually organize the shelves. We try to keep things simple. If someone needs a specific item, we look it up in the ledger and tell them if it's in the back. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and packing, but it keeps the business moving. The staff here has been with us for years, so everyone knows their job. We’re just a regular part of the neighborhood, doing what we do since we opened. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
