Charlie Entertainment

Down here in the Mehrauli area, we run Charlie Entertainment from a small space. It’s a pretty simple operation, mostly just me and a few friends who know how to put a show or a party together without too much fuss. We do a lot of different things, like finding performers for local events or setting up stages for festivals and private parties. Mehrauli is a great place to be because of all the history around us and the winding streets that we know like the back of our hand. Our workspace is quite small, mostly filled with bags of costumes, wires, or leftover decorations from whatever we did last weekend. We don't have a fancy reception desk or anyone to greet you at the door. If you want to talk to us, we’re usually out on the road in our truck or at a venue setting things up. We’ve done everything from small birthday parties in backyards to bigger public gatherings in the parks. It’s hard work and the hours are always unpredictable and weird. You might be working until 3 in the morning on a Saturday and then you're up again at 8 to take everything down. But we enjoy the energy of it all. We don’t use those big corporate phrases because that’s just not our style. We just want the event to happen without any major problems. If a light blows or a microphone stops working, we're the ones crawling under the stage to fix it. It's a very hands-on kind of job.
