Crescent Primary & Nursery School

You can find our school in Fatorda, Goa. It is a primary and nursery school, so we deal with the younger children. The building is right there in the neighborhood, making it easy for local families to walk their kids over in the mornings. We have been in Fatorda for quite some time now. The classrooms are basic and functional for daily use. We do not have air conditioning or fancy gadgets, just fans and blackboards. Most of the day is spent teaching the kids their basics so they are ready for higher school later. We have a small yard where they can run around during their break. It is not a very big school, which is nice because we get to know all the children really well. The teachers are mostly women from the local area who have their own kids too. We try to keep the atmosphere relaxed but we still follow the daily schedule. Parents usually stop for a bit of a talk at the gate during pickup time. It is a very community-oriented place. We do not put up big posters or do much advertising. People in Goa usually know where the local schools are located. We just focus on making sure the kids learn how to read and write properly. It is a lot of work, but it is what we do every day. The rainy season can be a challenge, but we manage.
