Urban Crofter Private Limited

Urban Crofter Private Limited is based in a basement in Kalkaji, G-63 to be exact. Being in a basement in South Delhi means it stays a bit cooler in the summer, which is a relief. We chose the name because we liked the idea of being small-scale farmers in a big city environment. 110019 is a busy place, and there’s always something happening right outside our door. Inside, it’s mostly just us and our equipment. We don't have any leather chairs or big glass meeting rooms. Our furniture is mostly mismatched stuff we picked up because it was cheap and it worked. We spend our time trying to help people grow food in small spaces. It’s a lot of trial and error. Sometimes our experiments fail and we have to start all over again from scratch. It can be frustrating, but that is just how farming goes, even when it’s urban. We are just a small team. We don't have a receptionist or anyone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. If you call, you just get one of us. We might be busy or out at a site, but we try to get back to everyone. We aren't looking to become famous or anything. We just want to see more green in the city and make a decent living while doing it. It’s a bit of a struggle sometimes, but it’s our struggle and we are used to it.
