The Indian Departmental Store

The Indian Departmental Store is tucked into Office No1 of Mahavir Apartment, Block D. We are right on Devli Road in Khanpur, very close to Ahuja Hospital. Because of the hospital nearby, we stay pretty busy with people coming in for all sorts of things at odd hours. The store isn't laid out like a modern supermarket. It’s more of a traditional setup where things are stacked high on every available surface. We have buckets, kitchenware, snacks, and even some basic medicines and toiletries. It can be a bit of a maze if you don't know where things are, but we are always around to point you to the right corner. The apartment building is a bit old, and sometimes the parking out front is a nightmare, but people still manage to find us. We’ve had this shop for a few years now. It’s just me, my wife, and one helper who comes in during the evenings. We don't have a fancy logo or a marketing plan. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the regulars to show up. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use flashlights to find the items for the customers. It’s just how things work around here. We try to keep prices reasonable so that the families in Mahavir Apartment don't have to go anywhere else for their daily needs. It’s a busy, cramped, but functional little shop.
