Midland Fruit & Vegetable Products (I) Pvt. Ltd. is located in Okhla Phase-III. We are in Jumbo House, which is part of the Jumbo Industrial Estate. Being so close to the Okhla Railway Station is actually quite helpful for us, though you can definitely hear the trains going by all day long. The industrial estate is a busy place with lots of different businesses, so there is always a lot of movement. We’ve been in this building for a long time. Inside, it’s mostly about processing. We handle various fruits and vegetables, so depending on the season, the smell in the air changes. Sometimes it smells like tomatoes, and other times it’s more like mangoes. The workspace is filled with stainless steel tables and various machines for peeling or cutting. It’s loud and it can get quite humid when the steam valves are open. Our office is just a small partitioned area where we keep the records. We use a lot of paper logs because that’s just how we’ve always done it. The workers here come from all over, and many have been with us for over ten years. We have lunch together in a small break area near the back. It’s a noisy, busy, and sometimes messy environment, but it’s where we do our work every day without much complaint. There is always a lot to do before the shift ends.
