Our office is right in the middle of Okhla Industrial Area Phase 1, at A 199 on the second floor. If you know Okhla, you know it’s always busy with trucks and people moving things around at all hours. We’ve been here at Takila Designs for a bit now, and we’ve gotten used to the industrial sounds and the constant movement outside. It’s a gritty part of town, but it’s actually great for getting things made and seeing work happen. The second floor gives us a bit of a view of the street, though it’s mostly just roofs and messy wires. Inside, we have our computers and a big table for looking at prints or drawings. It’s not a showroom; it’s a place where we actually do the work ourselves. There’s usually a bit of dust because of the industrial area, and we’re always wiping down our screens to see better. We drink a lot of tea to keep ourselves going through the afternoon slump. Most of the time, we’re just focusing on whatever project is on the table, whether it’s a small sketch or a big layout. We don’t really do formal meetings with agendas. We just pull up a chair and talk about what needs fixing right then. It’s a straightforward way to run things without any extra stress. By the time we leave in the evening, the area is still buzzing with activity. It is just how life is here.
