Shilpi Mukherjee

Down in Giri Nagar, specifically Subhash Khand, is where you’ll find Shilpi Mukherjee’s place. The address is 251. Kalkaji is a big area, but this corner is a bit more lived-in. Our office is part of the house, which makes it feel very personal. We have a few desks set up in the front room. It’s a Delhi house, so it’s got those thick walls that stay a bit cooler in the summer. We don’t have a shiny lobby or a guard at the door. You just ring the bell. We spend most of our time staring at screens or talking on the phone. It’s a very straightforward operation. We don’t use big words to describe ourselves. We are just people working in a house in Kalkaji. Sometimes you can hear the vegetable sellers calling out in the street. It’s part of the daily background noise here. We have a small pantry where we make tea. We don’t have a big HR department or anything like that. It’s just us. We keep things simple because that’s what works. If someone needs to talk to us, they just come over. The 110019 area is quite busy, but inside 251, it’s mostly just the sound of typing. We’ve been here for a while and don't plan on moving. It’s our home and our work all in one. We just try to keep things moving as best as we can without making too much of a fuss. It's a busy life.
