Saima Shakil

If you find yourself on Nafees Road in Batla House, you probably know how things are around here. It is one of those parts of New Delhi where the streets never really get quiet. We are located at F-19/3, which is a spot we have been using for quite some time now. Saima Shakil is the name on our papers, and it is also the name people know us by in this neighborhood. We do not have a fancy lobby or a receptionist who greets you with a scripted line. It is just a regular office where we handle our daily tasks. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but they hold up just fine for what we need. Outside, you can hear the rickshaws and the people going about their business in 110025. Sometimes the tea man comes by, and we take a break, but mostly we are just focused on the work in front of us. It is a bit cramped, especially when we have a lot of things piled up on the desks, but it works. We do not try to act like some big corporate entity from a tall glass building. This is just a local place on a busy road where we try to get through our list of things to do every day. It feels honest to work this way without all the extra polish that most places seem to want these days. We just keep it simple.
