We are over here at G 16 12 in Malviya Nagar, which is a pretty crowded part of New Delhi most days. Ramanath Iyer Co has been running out of this spot for a good while now. It’s not a fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. We just have our desks, some old filing cabinets, and the usual computers. Every morning starts about the same. We get the tea going, open up the shutters, and start looking at whatever paperwork came in the day before. The street outside is always noisy with rickshaws and people walking to the market nearby. It’s a local feel, nothing like those big corporate parks you see in Gurgaon. We deal with a lot of regular people and small businesses from around the area. Some days the phones don't stop ringing and other days it's quiet enough to actually hear the fan humming. We don't spend money on big signs or ads. Most people find us because they live nearby or someone told them we’re here. It’s just honest work. We stay until the job is done, usually around six or seven. Sometimes we take a break to walk down the lane for a snack. It’s a simple routine and it suits us just fine. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit, but our little corner stays mostly the same. Just us and the files. The neighborhood is alright, plenty of food spots nearby if you get hungry during the afternoon slump. We just keep our heads down and finish the tasks.
