Rajdhani Provision & General Store

Rajdhani Provision & General Store is a small shop at S-15 on the Main Road in Green Park. We are right next to the Geetanjali Beauty Saloon. It gets quite busy here in the mornings. People stop by for milk and bread before they go to work. The shop is not very big, so we have to stack things high. Sometimes I worry a shelf might give way, but they have held up so far. We keep all the basic things like dal, rice, and cooking oil. It’s a local place. Most of the people who come in live in the flats nearby. We know their names and what they usually buy. Sometimes we run out of things if the truck doesn't show up on time. That's just part of the business. The traffic on the main road is always loud. You can hear the horns all day long. We don't have a computer for bills, we just use a pencil and paper. It’s faster for us that way. The floor gets a bit dusty from the street, so we sweep it a few times a day. We’ve been here in Delhi for a long time. The neighborhood has changed a lot, but our shop stays mostly the same. We just keep the doors open and wait for the next customer to walk in. It’s a simple way to spend the day, really.
