Kapoor & Company is based in Okhla Industrial Estate Phase II, at E-49/9. If you know Okhla, you know it’s a busy, gritty place with a lot of movement every single day. Our building is a typical industrial structure, mostly warehouse space with a small section partitioned off for the office work. We handle a lot of different goods, so there’s always something being loaded or unloaded at the gate. The gate itself is quite heavy and makes a loud noise every time it opens. We don't really bother with painting the walls or making the place look fancy. It’s a working space, after all. My father started this business years ago and I’ve just kept it going. We have a few workers who have been with us for a long time. We spend most of our time checking the inventory and making sure the counts are right. It’s a lot of manual work and paperwork. The traffic in Phase II can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we try to get our big deliveries out before four o'clock. We don't have a big corporate culture here. We just sit around the old wooden table and figure out the schedule for the week. It’s often dusty because of the construction nearby, but we just wipe down the desks and keep moving. We aren't looking to be famous, just to keep the business running and the orders moving through Okhla every week.
