Our small office is on the second floor at E - 7, right across from the Andhra Bank in Kalkaji. It’s a busy area and the noise from the street usually makes its way up here. We’ve been doing interiors for a good while now. It’s mostly just me and a couple of helpers. We don’t have a fancy showroom with lights and mirrors. Instead, we have stacks of tile samples and books of fabric sitting around on the floor. People come in looking to fix up their kitchens or maybe get a new wardrobe built. We sit down, look at some drawings, and figure out what can actually be done with their budget. Sometimes the ideas people have aren't practical for the space they have, so we have to be honest about that. Most of our day is spent at the actual work sites, so the office is often empty until the evening. We get dusty and tired, but it’s okay because we like seeing a room change from a mess into something usable. We don’t use any high-tech software for our designs, just a pencil and some paper usually. It’s been this way for years and it works for the folks around Kalkaji. We don’t have a big sign out front, just a small one by the stairs. It’s a simple operation and we just take one job at a time to make sure it gets finished without too much trouble for the homeowner.
