Being in Okhla Phase III means you’re always surrounded by the sound of trucks and machines. At Indfab, we are located at B-51. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always dust and movement outside our doors. We’ve been operating out of this space for some years now. Inside, it’s mostly workspace with machines and materials piled up in the corners. It can get pretty hot in the summer, but we just keep the fans going and get on with the day’s work. We make things, mostly fabric-related stuff, which explains the name. It’s not a quiet office job. We are usually busy with orders, checking the quality of the cloth, and making sure the machines are running okay. Sometimes a machine breaks down, and that’s a whole headache for the afternoon while we wait for a repair. We have a small crew, and everyone knows what they are supposed to do. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations or anything like that. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, to be honest. But it’s where we work. We get the orders out, deal with the suppliers who come by, and try to make sure everything is packed right before the trucks arrive. It’s a lot of manual work and standing on your feet all day. When the day ends, we lock up and head home through the Okhla traffic. It’s just how it goes here for us every day.
