About Dhall Casting – Metals & Minerals in South Delhi
Our foundry is over at 50, DSIDC Sheds in the Okhla Industrial Area, Phase-I. If you have ever been to Okhla, you know it is a maze of narrow streets and constant noise. Being in the DSIDC sheds means we are in a bit of an older section. It is a very hot place to work because of the casting process, so we are always sweating no matter what the weather is like outside. The walls are blackened from years of smoke and the floor is always covered in sand and bits of scrap metal. It is definitely not a clean or quiet environment. We spend our days melting metal and pouring it into molds, then waiting for it to cool down so we can see how it turned out. There is a lot of heavy lifting and it is physically draining work. We have a small corner where we keep our water bottles and take our breaks. We don't bother with a fancy website or any promotional stuff because the work we do at Dhall Casting speaks for itself when people see the parts. It is a gritty, loud, and tough way to make a living, but there is a certain rhythm to the casting process that we all understand. We just keep the furnace going and try to get as much done as we can before the end of the shift. It’s just a bunch of guys in a shed in Okhla.
