Continental Engineering Corporation is tucked away in Khirki Extension. If you know Malviya Nagar in New Delhi, you know how packed it can get. We are in Flat No-7, JF-1C. It is one of those spots where you have to navigate the little lanes to get to the right block. The pin code is 110017. It is a very lived-in area, with shops and houses all piled on top of each other. Our office isn’t anything to brag about; it’s just a flat where we’ve set up our engineering station. We have some computers, some old desks, and heaps of paper everywhere. It’s the kind of place where you hear the street vendors outside while you’re trying to finish a report. Malviya Nagar is a central enough place, but Khirki feels like its own little village sometimes. We’ve stayed here because it’s convenient and we know the area well. There is no fancy lobby or a person at a front desk waiting to greet you. Usually, one of us will just look up from a desk if someone knocks on the door. It gets pretty hot in the summer months, and the narrow streets don't let much breeze in, but we have our AC and we manage. It is a humble setup for an engineering firm, but it suits the way we work. We just focus on the day’s tasks and go home when the work is finally done.
