Sundarban Fed Farmers Honey Producer Company Limited

Down in the South 24 Parganas, specifically in Choradakati village, we deal with honey. We are part of Sansad No Fulmalancha XII. Working with bees in the Sundarbans isn't like regular farming. It is a bit risky and you have to know what you are doing. The bees don't wait for anyone. We are a group of farmers who decided to pool our honey together. The forest is right there, and it provides what we need, but we have to work for it. Our days are spent checking hives or processing the honey in a very basic way. It is a sticky, tiring job but it is what we know. Being in Choradakati means we are a bit far from the big cities, but we like the quiet. We don't have a marketing team or big fancy labels. We just focus on the honey the bees make from the local flowers. Sometimes the weather is too rough and we can't get out, but that is just how it goes here. We help each other out with the equipment and the transport because the roads aren't always great. It is an honest living. We aren't trying to be the biggest company, just a group of local people making sure our honey gets where it needs to go. Every jar has a lot of hard work behind it. It is just us and the bees out here.
